Colin and Elaine Hartley, from Heysham, came across the pictures after rummaging through their family photographs.

The first is of Galgate’s football team. Colin’s father-in-law, Ralph Southward came from Galgate so it may have a connection with his family.

He said: “A photo taken in the early twenties, not long after the end of the Great War, some of these young men may have lived through a horrendous experience.

“If not affected personally I’m sure they’ll have known many who lost their lives or were injured in the conflict.”

The second photo is of the staff at Lancaster’s long gone K-Shoe factory at a presentation. Colin said: “I don’t know the year it was taken. The only person we can recognise is Doreen Williams, dark hair just behind/to the right of the man making the presentation.”

If you recognise any people in the photograph please get in touch via email at [email protected] or on 01524 385 932.
