Fishermen rescued from choppy seas in Morecambe

Morecambe Coastguard was called out at 12.30am on Friday to a report of a small fishing boat in difficulties in the sea near The Midland hotel.

The fishermen on board became concerned for their safety when sea conditions became rough.

The coastguard located the vessel and Morecambe’s RNLI lifeboat was sent to the scene.

Both fishermen were taken back ashore on the lifeboat where they were confirmed to be safe and well and required no further assistance.
