Festive bike marking scheme

Police will be launching a bicycle crime prevention initiative around the Christmas and New Year period.

The bike security initiative will be held on several dates at various locations in the Morecambe district with the aim of promoting the importance of taking proper bicycle security measures following a rise in bicycle thefts in the area in recent months.As part of this, Neighbourhood Policing Teams will be offering free bicycle-marking to members of the public. The bike security initiative will take place on the following dates at locations across Morecambe:

Bolton le Sands Fire Station, December 27, 12-2pm; Carnforth Fire Station, December 27, 3-5pm;

Morecambe Library, January 3,10am-2pm;

Heysham Library, January 10, 10am-1pm; Halton Skate Park, January 10, 6-8pm; Nether Kellet Village Hall, January 11, 3-5pm; Over Kellet Village Hall, January 11, 6-8pm. Anyone with information about bicycle thefts can contact police on 101.
