Crossings between Heysham port and the Isle of Man have been hit by a fault with the ferry Ben-my-Chree.

Passenger services have been cancelled until Wednesday so repairs can be carried out to the ferry’s steering gear.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, operators of the vessel, have apologised to customers.

In the meantime the firm’s other passenger ferry Manannan has been drafted in to sail between Heysham and Douglas over the next few days.

Passengers booked on the original Heysham sailings over the next few days have been automatically transferred to the new rescheduled times on Manannan.
