DETECTIVES have released an Evofit image of a man they want to speak to in connection with a burglary at a house in Morecambe.

Police believe the offender broke in through a window at the rear of a house on Prestbury Drive at around 11.50am on Monday, August 13.

The man is thought to have searched a number of rooms before being disturbed by one of the occupants while in the kitchen.

It is thought he got away with a wallet and a small amount of jewellery.

DC Jon Shaw of Lancaster and Morecambe CID said: “Having to come face-to-face with a burglar in your own home is a deeply distressing experience which has left the occupants shaken and we are keen to trace the person responsible.

“Fortunately, the occupants were able to provide us with a description of the man they saw in their house and we have been able to put together the Evofit. I would urge people to look closely at the image and to come forward and contact us if anyone recognises him.”

The man is described as being white, around 40 years old and of thin build. He had a gaunt face and a greying beard. He was wearing a black bomber jacket and a khaki green, brown and orange striped beanie hat.

Call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
