They include a pair of Eric’s spectacles, his typewriter, top hat, fishing rods and flies, Charlie, the ventriloquist’s dummy and Mr. M’s Glamour Kit from the personal
collection of Eric’s family.

The two stage suits worn by Eric and Ernie Wise when they performed a comedy routine with Sir Tom Jones, loaned from the Victoria and Albert Museum, will also be on display. Lancashire County Council’s head of libraries, museums, culture and registrar’s service, Julie Bell, said: it would be a “great exhibition for visitors who appreciate the humour of Morecambe and Wise”. The exhibition runs until Sunday July 10. Entry to the museum is free.

Opening times are 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Gail Stuart, Eric Morecambe’s daughter, will attend both exhibitions over the weekend.

Organisers of ‘The Art Show Wot We Did’ are looking for selfie photos to include in the display which opens at Morecambe Library on Saturday. All you have to do is take a selfie photo with the Eric statue and share it on twitter or instagram with the #EricMorecambeSelfie hashtag. The best will appear in the exhibition.
