Emmerdale star to switch on Morecambe Arndale’s Christmas lights

A range of festivities are set to take place this weekend in Morecambe including the light switch-on hosted by Santa Claus and Anthony Quinlan at the Arndale Centre.

Families and visitors will be in for a treat this weekend as Christmas starts early with a range of events across the district.

On Saturday November 28 Emmerdale star Anthony Quinlan who plays Pete Barton will be switching on the Christmas lights at the Arndale Centre at around 2pm.

The free event starting from 11am will also include Ice Princesses, fancy dress competitions and a Santa parade.

The fancy dress party will take place from 1pm at the Arndale and from 1.30pm visitors can join Anthony and Santa Claus on the parade around the town from 1.30pm.

Lights will be switched on at the centre at around 2.30pm.

Money will be raised for Lancaster St John’s Hospice through the picture signings from Anthony.

Scrooge The Musical by Lancaster Red Rose AODS, continues at The Winter Gardens until tomorrow, November 28.

Families will also get the chance to visit the Coca Cola truck at the Spirit of Christmas, Festival Market, in Morecambe at the weekend.
