LANCASTER University has been ranked the ninth best in the country in The Times Good University Guide.
The university is also ranked seventh in the Guardian’s league table and ninth in the Complete University Guide.
“This result reflects Lancaster’s leading research and innovative teaching, and also the great overall experience that we offer students,” said Professor Paul Wellings, vice-chancellor.
A spokesman for The Times said: “Students are more satisfied, entry grades have gone up and a higher proportion of undergraduates achieved top-class degrees.”
The other universities in The Times’ list are Oxford, Cambridge, London School of Economics, Imperial College, University College London, Durham, St Andrews, Warwick and Exeter.
