A Christmas festival with a Victorian theme – including a famous Christmas trees display – returns to Morecambe Parish Church this weekend.
Local organisations and businesses will host the event from December 4 to 6, which has been inspired by Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’.
‘Ebenezer Scrooge’ himself will be there to read to visitors and the annual display of trees will be in the church building. Each tree is provided, decorated and displayed by local organisations, businesses or individuals. Tea, coffee and mince pies will be available in church.
Meanwhile, Morecambe War Memorial Hall will host a Christmas Fair. This will showcase a wide range of products from local traders, including cards, art, jewellery, cakes, confectionary and other crafts. You can also take a rest from shopping with a glass of mulled wine. Susan’s Pies will run a café in the hall to provide hot food and light refreshments throughout the festival. Opening times are December 4 and December 5, 3pm to 8pm, and December 6 10.30am to 5.30pm. Admission £1 for adults, accompanied children free.
