Delight for Morecambe Road School pupil

The seven-year-old was born with a cleft palate and this year she will undergo her seventh operation.

The Morecambe Road pupil has gone from not talking at all to gaining a reading award thanks to years of intense speech therapy training.

Mum Ruth Schofield is over the moon, she said: “I am really proud of her. She is a very brave little girl. It is quite a big thing for her. It is a really great thing especially for the school. We have had lots of support.”
