Well done to everyone who spent so much time organising the Morecambe Carnival over the weekend. It was a really amazing event.
It was nice to see so many people visiting Morecambe and that is something I notice has been reflected on social media with a number of people commenting on what a great day they had. There were some really brilliant floats and some amazing live music. I had a great day and I hope the carnival will return again.
On Bank Holiday Monday, I was attending the Wildlife Rocks event in Guilford where Kitty Brucknell was performing. I managed to talk to her and she said she enjoyed singing on the carnival stage and that she had a great day. It’s nice to see musicians talking about Morecambe and what a great day they had performing here.
I was pleased to welcome the Rt Hon Owen Patterson MP, the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to Morecambe and Lunesdale last week. As you may know, I hold regular farmers forum events and Owen was really keen to talk to my local farmers. We had an interesting and very productive discussion about a range of farming issues.
