Youths appear in court after burglaries

Three youths were arrested by police in Heysham following a spate of burglaries in the area.

Police were patrolling the Windermere Park estate in Heysham which had been previously targeted by burglars during the daytime when a PCSO spotted three local teenagers acting suspiciously.

The youths were chased for over a mile by the PCSO across fields where he was joined by other officers.

The three teenagers were arrested.

One youth has been charged with two burglaries and the other with one burglary.

The owner of the most recent property break-in has been reunited with their belongings.

Two of the youths were remanded in custody and appeared at Lancaster Magistrates Court on Monday, April 27.

The arrests were made on Friday, April 24

Police are unable to give further details due to the ages of the youths.
