VIDEO: Man trapped under car after industrial accident

A man became trapped under a vehicle after an industrial accident in the workshop at Pye Motors, police said.

The air ambulance, North West Ambulance Service, the police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service attended the garage on Ovangle Road after being called out at 12.02 on November 25 to reports of a man trapped.

Ovangle Road was closed off for a short time to allow emergency vehicles access to the scene.

North West Air Ambulance landed in a car park near Axa Insurance on Ovangle Road.

A land ambulance transferred the man to the air ambulance before he was transported to the Royal Preston Hospital.

A spokesman for North West Air Ambulance said the man was suffering from serious neck and back injuries, which were not thought to be life-threatening.
