Drunk and vulnerable women may have been targeted by a man intent on sexually assaulting them, police said.

Police are trying to trace victims of a man they believe has been targeting lone women in Morecambe or Lancaster over the last two years.

Officers would like to speak to women who suspect they may have been approached, followed or sexually assaulted whilst out in the city centres of Morecambe or Lancaster.

The man, described as white, aged 18-30 years, 5ft 11tall, slim build, with fair or brown hair short at the back and sides, wears smart casual clothes and has a polite and engaging manner.

He operates by approaching women who may be intoxicated and alone and offers to escort them home.

He always appears non-threatening and engaging and builds up trust.

DS Kev Wright said: “I strongly believe that there may be women out there who have been targeted by this man but who have not come forward and spoken to the police and I would like to take this opportunity to urge them to do so.

“If anyone feels they may have been a victim of a man matching the description of how he looks or his behaviour, or whose behaviour towards them has been strange then they should contact us in full confidence.” Contact police on 101 quoting log number 0456 of August 8.
