GARDENERS have been left sickened after thieves broke into their allotment sheds and stole thousands of pounds worth of gear.
Rotavators and generators worth around £400 each were taken from the allotments near Heysham Swimming Baths during Thursday night.
Five sheds were broken into and now pensioners have been left counting the cost.
“Some of them are 70 to 80 years old and they might never be able to afford another generator or Rotavator,” said Terence Charnock, secretary of the West End and Heysham North Allotments Association.”
