Thieves take £1,000 of camera gear from Lancaster photographer

Two men stole more than £1,000 worth of equipment from a nature photographer in Lancaster.

The incident happened just before 9am on Friday 19th August near to the canal path on Aldcliffe Road, where the photographer was taking pictures of birds.

One of the thieves distracted the victim, a local man, by chatting to him while the other stole his bag containing various pieces of camera equipment including cameras, lenses, flashes and battery packs.

PC Ben Hanley from Lancaster Police said, “I would appeal to anyone who has information about this to come forward and contact the police. People may have been offered these goods and if they have I would ask them to get in touch.”
