13. Carole Green
2010 Carole Green got Carole Green, 57, was stabbed 100 times at her flat in Lytham St Annes, by her husband Stephen Green, 52, following his constant criticism of her card-playing. Both had been involved in bridge clubs.
He is serving a minimum of 23 years after being found guilty of her murder.
14. Geraldine Hazel Allen and Maureen Allen
Lee Browne, then 21, stabbed his grandma Maureen Allen, 79, and aunt Geraldine Allen, 57, to death at the home they all shared in Fulwood, Preston, then set a deliberate fire at their semi-detached bungalow in Longfield.
He is serving a 33 year minimum term.
15. Bernadette Gallagher
Bernadette Gallagher, 51, was unconscious and 'probably alive' when her mentally ill son Kieran, then 32, (pictured) used a kitchen knife to try to cut out her heart, but instead removed her left lung, following an argument at her home in Bamber Bridge.
Galllagher, who was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. and was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order.
16. Susan Workman
Mother-of-three Susan Workman, 55, was stabbed in the heart by her millionaire husband Ian Workman, then 58, of Turton, Lancashire, in a row over their divorce.
She was typing a live account of his actions when he plunged a knife into her in anger, with her final words reading: “Standing, staring at me acro ...”
He was jailed for life in 2011 after he was convicted of stabbing her.
