Yobs tied a rope across Morecambe promenade in an act which police described as ‘stupidity.’

PCSOs discovered the rope attached to a life buoy station and some inner railings on the promenade.

A spokesman for Morecambe Area Police said: “This kind of stupidity could cause serious injury to a cyclist and could endanger someone’s life if in the bay.”

Several youths were spoken to at the scene and their details taken.
