A CONVICTED paedophile has been driven from his home following protests from angry residents.

Residents of Connaught Road Heysham took to the streets last week when they discovered Raymond Alan Blaylock was living on their street, forcing police to take the Heysham power station worker to a safe house.

Blaylock, 58, has pleaded guilty to 13 counts of gross indecency with children under 14, and will be sentenced later this month.

The charges relate to offences that took place in a Cumbrian village on various dates between March 1980 and July 1986, but parents of children living in Connaught Road say they should have been informed about his past.

The offences only came to light recently and Blaylock was convicted last Monday.
