Middleton woman who made her neighbours lives a misery with anti-social behaviour sent back to jail after breaching civil injunction

Police said Ms Bailey had been released early in April from a 26-week sentence for a previous breach of the injunction whereupon she immediately continued her anti-social behaviour against her neighbour by playing loud music late into the evening.

On May 19, Joanne Bailey of Low Road, Middleton was found guilty at Preston Combined Court for breaching a civil injunction obtained by Lancaster City Council and sentenced to 42 days in prison.

Lancaster City Council's Anti-Social Behaviour Team have worked tirelessly with Morecambe Neighbourhood Policing Team to tackle Ms Bailey's stubborn refusal to abide by the conditions of the injunction.

The injunction was obtained, in part, due to the excessive and unreasonable noise created by Ms Bailey at all hours of the night, such as singing, playing music, screaming, shouting and slamming doors.

Previously she was successfully prosecuted for filling her neighbour’s cavity wall with water direct from a hose pipe causing damage to the property.

A spokesperson for Morecambe Police said: "Ms Bailey quite simply has to respect her neighbours and act like every other responsible adult - considering the effect her actions have and learning to live in peace with others.

"It is rare for cases like this to result in not one but multiple custodial sentences but it shows that the Council and the Police will relentlessly target people like Ms Bailey in order to protect the victims of anti-social behaviour whose lives have been made a misery over many years."
