Men convicted of Morecambe pub burglary

TWO men have been convicted of burgling a Morecambe pub with intent to steal.

Ben Robert Tyrone Gallagher, 19, of Bristol Street in Morecambe and Brian Charles Alexander McGowan, 32, also of Bristol Street, broke into Oscar’s on Victoria Street on August 18.

Both were given a 12 month community order and unpaid work.

McGowan was also convicted of possessing cannabis and ordered to forfeit the drugs. He was also convicted of possessing a knife in a public place.

The building which houses Oscar’s, the former Crystal T’s nightclub and Concorde squash club is currently under renovation.
