Masked man chases boy, 10, in towpath ordeal

A terrified young boy was chased by a masked man on the Lancaster Canal.

Police are hunting for the ‘aggressive’ man who chased the 10-year-old boy whilst he was walking his dog.

The incident occurred at 8.45am on Thursday, July 4, on a section of canal path between the A6070 and Hillside, Holme.

The man was described as at least 5ft 6ins tall, of average build, wearing a black ribbed hat which was pulled down with eye holes, a black woollen scarf covering his face, black woollen gloves, a plain black hooded top, with possibly a green and white Celtic top underneath, black trousers which were torn at the knee and black shoes with a Nike logo.

The man was also described as having what appeared to be a fresh cut and bruise to one of his knees.
