Man made death remarks to woman

A woman was left terrified when a man told her he had thought of strangling her and told her: “I just want you dead”.

Stephen Graham Read, of no fixed abode, admitting causing the woman to fear violence would be used, and criminal damage to a wall in a house in Morecambe.

Preston Magistrates’ Court imposed a six week jail term, suspended for 12 months, alongside a restraining order and rehabilitation activity.

The 40-year-old defendant was also ordered to pay her £100 compensation.

The bench heard he had also “ exhibited violence towards inanimate objects” whilst repeatedly saying to the woman he wanted her dead.
