A 23-year-old man was found injured on the side of the road.
The man was found on the pavement close to Carlisle Bridge on Morecambe Road, Lancaster, at around 4am on Tuesday
He had various injuries including to his leg. But the circumstances surrounding how he came by them are unclear. Officers are investigating the possibility that he may have been hit by a vehicle which had failed to stop.
The man was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary, where he is in a stable condition.
PC Peter Black from the Road Policing Unit said: “We are investigating the possibility that he could have been hit by a car and so we would be very keen to speak to anyone that witnessed a collision on Morecambe Road between around 3:25am and 3:40am.” Call 101.
