Lancashire takeaway owner in court over food and hygiene offences

The owner of a Chinese takeaway has appeared in court accused of a string of food and hygiene offences including failing to ensure a wash basin was provided.

Ming Qin Chen, of Newmarket Street, Bare, Morecambe, is being prosecuted by Lancaster City Council which alleges 14 offences relating to cleanliness and maintenance of the premises and his equipment, failing to keep food items at safe temperatures, and disposal of food.

The case is adjourned until January 18 at Lancaster Magistrates’ Court to allow a Mandarin interpreter to be arranged.

No pleas were entered.
