Dad killed at pop diva gig

A MUCH-LOVED father who died after being “bottled” in the neck at a party just seconds after a performance by pop star Jessie J had worked in Morecambe.

Philip Sherriff , 37, who suffered horrific injuries after being stabbed in a London nightclub, worked at Morrisons supermarket on Central Drive as a supervisor in the mid-to-late 1990s.

Tracy Brown, a Morecambe town councillor and former Morrisons colleague, paid tribute to Mr Sherriff on Facebook, calling him “amazing...the best kind of man you could have known”.

Telecoms worker Mr Sherriff, 37, who lived in Scorton near Garstang, was attacked with a broken bottle at an invitation-only event thrown by smartphone giant BlackBerry in Pulse nightclub, Southwark, on April 4.
