Funding has been secured for more CCTV cameras on Morecambe’s White Lund estate.

The funding has been secured by Police Community Support Officer John Brayshaw who has received money up to a maximum of £4,000 which has been seized from the proceeds of crime.

This funding is in addition to the large amount of money already contributed by local businesses on the White Lund and Vickers Estate.

The funding allowed the purchase of seven high quality CCTV cameras which has helped reduce crime on the estates by over 60%.

Due to the high reduction in crime more businesses are contributing to this project especially with the new Heysham/M6 Link road being built.
