Hoteliers Paul Bury and Judy Edmondson are giving couples the chance to marry in a unique setting - as they themselves prepare to get hitched.
Paul and Judy are about to open a new terrace overlooking Morecambe Bay at the Lothersdale Hotel where they met and fell in love.
The couple say it will be the only outdoor area in Morecambe licensed for wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships.
They will be the very first to be married at the Lothersdale on their own big day - March 28.
The Lothersdale has been run by the Bury family since 1953.
Proprietor Paul, who went to Morecambe High School, met Judy when she came to work at the Marine Road hotel 10 years ago.
They struck up a friendship, love blossomed and now they run the hotel together.
“We will be the first ones to get married in our own venue,” said Paul, 43.
“It’s the first time the hotel has had a civil licence.
“We thought it would be nice to get married in a building which has been built up by my father and my grandfather.”
As the hotel’s licence to marry outdoors runs from April to September, Paul and Judy will take their vows standing just inside, but with guests watching from the open-door terrace.
The hotel’s Aspect Bar and Bistro recently was crowned Best Bistro at the England and Wales Food Awards.
The new terrace will also be used as a tapas bar. The conference suite at the hotel is also under refurbishment.
Paul said: “The new development is coming on apace and we will have everything in place for Mother’s Day and Easter.
“We are continuing our policy of bringing something different to Morecambe.”
