For five years in a row Yvette Price, a piano teacher from Morecambe, has held a Christmas concert in aid of St John’s Hospice.
And this year her concert held in December at the hospice raised almost £5,000. This brings Yvette’s fundraising for the hospice over five years to £16,800.
Many of her pupils performed for more than 100 friends and family. Yvette’s pupils range from six to 79-years-old.
She said: “I couldn’t be more proud of my students for what they have achieved musically, and also for the way they have mustered up support for the hospice among their own families and friends, gathering such huge amounts of sponsorship money for their individual performances at the Christmas concert.
“The amount we raised this year was staggering and we are all absolutely delighted. The hospice means so much to so many local families and we are only too pleased to do our bit to help keep it running. I’m excited now about what we can achieve for them at the Christmas concert this year. A huge thanks to everyone involved on the day.” Community fundraiser, Karen Crossley, said: “To raise as much as Yvette has raised over the last five years is a considerable achievement and one she should be very proud of. We are so grateful that she continues to show us such fabulous support.
“It means the world to our patients and their families.”
