Morecambe Christian Spiritualist Church meets at the Rainbow Centre, Clarence Street. This Sunday January 4, at 6.30pm, the speaker will be Chris Waddington from Barrow. Further information available from 01524 832919 or 824304.
At Christ Church (United Reformed), Broadway, Rev Graham Maskery will conduct a Holy Communion Service on New Year’s Eve starting at 10.30am. The service will be held in the small chapel followed by refreshments in the small hall.
This Sunday January 4, at the 10am Family Communion Service with Sermon Service conducted by Rev Maskery, the congregation will be joined by members of Sefton Road Church.
Rev Charles Makonde will lead the 10.30am Morning Covenant Service at Bare Methodist Church, Seaborn Road, this Sunday January 4.
On New Year’s Day the Ascension Church will offer a Solemn Eucharist at noon. This is a day of special prayer for world peace for which intercession will be offered during the celebration. Fr Chris and the churchwardens offer a warm invitation to the service and wish everyone a happy and peaceful New Year.
Services at the Ascension Church this Sunday January 4, the Feast of the Epiphany: 8am Said Eucharist, 11am Sung Eucharist. The celebrant and preacher at 11am will be Fr Phil Barber. Please note that Junior Church does not resume until Sunday January 11 when children should arrive for 10.50am. This is a good time for new youngsters to join – ask for Carolyn Wallace on arrival.
Midweek services at the Ascension Church, all Said Eucharists, continue as normal on Tuesdays at 7pm and on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10am. These services are generally led by Fr Chris.
On New Year’s Day at noon at the Ascension Church there will be a Solemn Eucharist for the whole parish of Torrisholme, of which the Westgate area is a part. Fr Chris and the churchwardens extend a warm welcome and wish everyone a happy and peaceful New Year.
This Sunday January 4, the Feast of the Epiphany, there will be a Sung Eucharist at St Martin’s Church at 9.30am led by Fr Chris, all welcome.

At St Helen’s Church on Epiphany Sunday, January 4, there will be a Eucharist Service at 10.45am. Please note no Junior Church. Refreshments will be available after the service.
Fair Trade goods are on sale in church and there is a collection basket for the local food bank for dry and tinned goods.
An opportunity to socialise within the village will be created by the next community coffee morning, which will be held on Saturday January 3 from 10am to noon in the memorial hall.
It will be run by the hall management committee and will form part of the fund-raising for a defibrillator to be sited outside the hall. More information about the defibrillator and how it is used will be available at the coffee morning.
The community coffee morning is not the only social event on the first weekend of January. There will be an afternoon tea party on Sunday January 4 at 3.30pm in the church hall. This will give people the opportunity to socialise as a village towards the end of the festive season and will raise money for the Lancaster and District Homeless Action Service.
This Sunday January 4 at 2pm there will be a public meeting at the Christadelphian Meeting Room, Main Road, A6, Slyne, when Phil Hallsworth will speak on the subject Behold the Man. All welcome, refreshments at the conclusion of the meeting.

The next Heysham South PACT (Police and Communities Together) meeting will take place at Heysham Library meeting room on Monday January 5 at 7pm. Residents of Heysham South are invited to attend. Please use side entrance.
At the Nazarene Church, Knowlys Road, prayer meetings are held on Tuesdays at 7.30pm and every Wednesday, from 10am to noon, there is a coffee morning. The speaker at 10.30am this Sunday January 4 will be Cliff Small.
