Morecambe coastguard were called out on Thursday evening to a report of a man on the rocks by Heysham Head who had been cut off by the tide.
Upon arrival the informant was quickly located and the casualty pointed out.
Morecambe RNLI were also involved, having launched their inshore lifeboat and hovercraft, and the Coastguard team assisted in directing them towards the person.
Upon their arrival another two people were located and all three were spoken to.
It was established that they were local fishermen who required no assistance and had knowledge of the tidal conditions.
Having confirmed they needed no assistance the Coastguard and RNLI teams stood down.
