A CHARITY night on Saturday, August 11 will pay tribute to a beautiful young Middleton woman.
Family and friends have organised an evening of music and entertainment at Smokey O’Connors to celebrate the life of Hayley Marie McMinn, who was killed in a car accident, aged 19, on July 24, 2011.
Hayley’s mum and dad, Alison and Joe, are hoping to raise £12,000 to buy an incubator for the neo natal unit at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary in Hayley’s name. They have set up a special charity, called Hayley’s Hugs, to continue fundraising for equipment for the RLI neo natal unit.
Various charity events, including a bungee jump by two friends of the family and a cross bay walk by Alison and Joe, have raised £3,000 for the RLI to date.
Proceeds from the night will go towards the fund raising effort.
Local girl group Dalton will perform and there will be music from DJ Rob of Mint Bar in Lancaster, where Hayley worked.
Jo & Cass, where Hayley also worked, will run a sponsored head shave and body wax on the night, which starts at 7.30pm.
Signed football shirts by the Arsenal and Manchester City squads have been donated for auction and there will also be a raffle.
Tickets cost £10 and are available by calling Alison on 0781 4239625.
