Two friends have set themselves three challenges for three charities over eight days.

Gareth Ashby, 27 and Steve Whitehead, 25, will be starting their challenges on May 25.

On that day, Gareth will start a run from Blackpool Tower to the clock tower in Morecambe, a distance of 26.6 miles.

At the same time Steve will leave the clock tower and cycle to Blackpool Tower and back.

The second challenge on Wednesday, May 29, will see the pals climbing Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England.

To finish the set of three challenges on Saturday, June 1, Gareth and Steve will run from Arnside to Morecambe, 14.1 miles.

The boys are fundraising for St John’s Hospice, CancerCare and Morecambe Bay Hospitals charity.

Last year Gareth held an event at Morecambe Golf Club which raised more than £1,000 for the Anthony Nolan Trust.

This year Gareth and Steve are kick-starting their fundraising by holding a charity event, again at Morecambe Golf Club, on Saturday, May 18.

Tickets are priced at £10.
