Morecambe Carnival will continue as a two-day event in 2016.

Popular events from this year’s carnival such as The Bay radio live music stage, fireworks finale, an It’s A Knockout game show and an aerial display will also return next year. Next year’s event was discussed at the Morecambe Carnival committee Annual General Meeting at the Globe Arena on June 25.

Also at the meeting, David Brayshaw was re-elected as committee chairman, Christine Stebbing was re-elected as vice-chairman, Carla Brayshaw was re-elected as secretary and Brendan Hughes was re-elected as treasurer.

This year’s carnival, held in May, drew more than 37,000 people to the prom.
