Carnforth deputy head failed to give breath test after crash

A Carnforth deputy head has been given a suspended prison sentence for failing to provide a breath test after crashing her car on her way to work.

Jane Crowhurst, of Carnforth North Road Community Primary School, 
was found guilty after a two-day trial at Lancaster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (July 10).

She was sentenced to 12 weeks’ custody, suspended for 12 months, given a three-month 7pm to 7am curfew and banned from driving for 30 months.

She was offered a drink-drive rehabilitation 
course.

Mrs Crowhurst, 48, of Storth, Milnthorpe, was also ordered to pay £1,500 costs and a £115 victim 
surcharge.

The accident happened on the A6 at Yealand last September.
