Carjacking terror after robbery suspects flee police

Four men have been arrested after reports of a cash transit vehicle being stolen from a Shell garage .

Police were called at about 7.50am on Wednesday October 14th to the Shell garage in Hatfield Avenue, Fleetwood, after reports masked men had threatened security guards and stolen a substantial amount of cash.

The offenders made off in a dark Audi car which was abandoned in Romney Avenue, Fleetwood before they switched to a white Audi Q7.

At about 8.25am a police patrol spotted an Audi Q7 on the A6 at Barton.

A man got out of the Audi and threw an axe at the patrol car before the Audi reversed into the police car before making off at speed.

A number of motorists on the A6 then reported to police that their cars had been involved in minor collisions with an Audi.

At 8.30am police received a number of reports of a group of men trying to get into various stationary vehicles on the A6 near to Guy’s Court.

Then at 8.35am on Skitham Lane at Pilling a 61 year old woman was dragged from her Ford Focus by a group of men who then made off in her car.

The Ford Focus was found abandoned in the Cabus area shortly afterwards.

Four men aged 22, 24, 27 and 32, all from the Bolton area were arrested in the Scorton area a short time later on suspicion of robbery. They are currently in custody.
