A new visitor coach park could be built in central Morecambe.
The MAAP suggests the council could get rid of the car park between the Eric statue and the Clock Tower, turning it into a swish pedestrian area with a drop-off point for coaches and buses.
This is part of a major plan to improve transport links, traffic circulation and car parking in the town.
Their other ideas include:
* Better on-street parking near the Post Office, banks and building societies
*Improve Morecambe railway station with better service information, improved shelter, seating and signs
*Either remove the bus station kiosk on Central Drive or bring it into operational use
*Develop new parking spaces at the bus station car park, the goods yard car park between Rita’s Cafe and the Platform, the Marine Road car park, the Winter Gardens car park and the Pedder Street car park
*Better parking facilities for goods vehicles at the Arndale Centre
*Improve the cycle track
