An award-winning niche confectionery manufacturer has hired a marketing manager to grow its brand.

Charlotte Jenkins will promote Heysham-based Goody Good Stuff across multiple platforms as part of the new role.

The firm, situated in Penrod Way, makes vegetarian and vegan sweets using just natural ingredients.

It has reported strong growth with its lines now stocked in Britain’s major supermarkets and is planning to take on more staff.

Ms Jenkins, a Lancaster University graduate from Morecambe said: “Working with a brand such as Goody Good Stuff is extremely exciting – especially as it’s a local business that has gone on to be a global success.

“I’m thoroughly enjoying my role and looking forward to managing successful marketing campaigns and projects in 2014 and beyond.”

The 23-year-old previously worked in the events management and design marketing departments for Morecambe Football Club, where she developed design, creativity, management and copywriting skills.

At Goody Good Stuff, she will work on the company’s social media management, exhibition and events and produce branded artwork for print, web and packaging.

The move comes amid a series of developments at the flourishing firm.

In September managing director Melissa Burton was made a retail ambassador by the Specsavers Everywoman in Retail programme.

Bosses said they were looking to further expand the team with a recruitment drive this year.
