Council sorry for festival error

A NEW glossy tourism brochure showing off the selling points of our district has been sent out across the country hoping to attract visitors to Morecambe and Lancaster.

But the town’s festival promoters aren’t impressed by the 68-page booklet, because the events pages contain several glaring errors.

Now Lancaster City Council has been forced to apologise after:

*Incorrectly listing the date of the Morecambe Jazz Festival as June 30-July 1, when the event actually takes place from July 6-8.

*Listing the Olympiadathon beach Olympics for August, even though the council still has not given full approval for the event to go ahead.

*Failing to even mention the Trimpell Club’s popular Nice n Sleazy punk festival.
