Lancashire MPs are at centre of a security scare at the Houses of Parliament, which are on lockdown after a firearms incident.

County MPs including Preston’s Mark Hendrick and Chorley’s Lindsay Hoyle have described hearing gunshots near the Westminster offices.

The entire area is currently on a security lockdown with reports that one person may have been shot.
