Caged Northwest members painted the tribute on a water tank where the female greyhound, that was named Petal after her death, was left mutilated.

Caged Northwest is still offering a £2000 reward for any further information that will lead to a full prosecution and conviction of Petals abuser/s.

Petal now has a plaque in her memory at the Holywell Cemetery in North Wales where she was laid to rest on July 1.

Petal, a black female greyhound was discovered dead in January with her right ear cut off, discarded like a piece of rubbish in the Overton area of Lancaster.

The dog who was not microchipped was also badly neglected before death, her body in very poor condition and underweight, weighing just 17kg with numerous bald patches.

Although there was no sign that Petal recently had a microchip removed, it is impossible to rule out that one may have been removed in the past.
