Appeal to identify stolen items recovered from house by police

A haul of stolen items were recovered by police during a search of a house.

A man from Carnforth was arrested at the house and subsequently charged with shoplifting, which was unrelated to the search.

Police are appealing for members of the public to help identify the property which is believed to be stolen.

They recovered numerous items of jewellery, watches, ornaments and crockery following a house search in Kendal.

Also found during the search was a selection of old and foreign coins as well as two books.

Police believe these items to be stolen.

Detective Constable Tom Pearman, of South Cumbria CID, said: “We are seeking the owners of these items which we believe have been stolen. The items are all unique and we hope are readily identifiable by the correct owners.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and ask to speak to DC 2453 Pearman.

n Wayne Woodburn, aged 44, of Orchard Road, Carnforth, and Tyne McMillan, aged 18, of Highgate Hall, Kendal, were charged with theft from a shop. Woodburn appeared before South Lakeland Magistrates Court on May 16 and McMillan is due to appear before the same court on June 26.
