One of the world’s most acclaimed jazz vocalists will be taking to the Morecambe stage this month.

Ian Shaw, who has twice been named Best Jazz Vocalist at the BBC Jazz Awards, will perform as part of More Music Presents, a series of gigs bringing nationally renowned musicians to the resort.

He will be supported at the gig on December 15 by local artists and at the end of his show will sing a version of Stevie Wonder’s Heaven Help Us All alongside Lancaster musician Howard Haigh and The Millennium Choir.

Ian Shaw, who has also toured on the comedy circuit alongside Rory Bremner, was selected to perform by a More Music committee of local residents who were asked who they wanted to hear in their home town.

Ian’s name came top of the list and his show is sure to be a sell-out.

More Music Presents launched this autumn and stages gigs at the Hothouse in Devonshire Road, Morecambe which has recently undergone a £30,000 upgrade.

Tickets for the gig, which starts at 8pm, are priced from £6. For more information and to book tickets call 01524 831997.
