2011 has been a watershed year for entertainment in the Morecambe area, especially where live music is concerned. Our entertainments editor GREG LAMBERT picks out

some personal highlights.

JANUARY: The year began pretty much as it carried on, and ended, with The Visitor throwing our weight behind the greatest band ever to come out of Morecambe, The Heartbreaks.

In an exclusive interview, we found out a little more about Joe, Ryan, “Deaks” and Matt, and their pure passion for their home town.

We were also big fans of Lancaster band The Lovely Eggs’ delightfully potty video – shot in Morecambe – for their ace single, Don’t Look At Me (I Don’t Like It).

Another city musician, Dan Haywood, brought out a marathon psychedelic country rock album containing a whopping 32 tracks!
