Finding one quality children’s show can be hard work, but finding three is an achievement, and the Lancaster Grand have got three fantastic family oriented shows coming up all within the same week, for very different tastes.
First up is the critically acclaimed Tall Stories (creators of the stage shows ‘The Gruffalo’ and ‘Room on the Broom) and they are proud to present their latest exciting collaboration with Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, The Snail and the Whale.
This exquisite piece of theatre will be sailing its way in on March 3/4, with shows for school performances and later shows for families wanting to hitch a ride.
A tiny snail longs to see the world, so it hitches a lift on the tail of a humpback whale. Together they go on an amazing journey, experiencing sharks and penguins, icebergs and volcanoes. But when the whale gets beached, how will the tiny snail save him?
Tall Stories are the masters of storytelling, with lots of live music, laughs and audience participation.
On March 7 we venture into Jurassic Adventures a brand new production, set on a magical island where anything might happen.
Be transported to a prehistoric place full of fun, thrills and screams, be amazed and awed by the birth of a baby Dinosaur, but beware of the T.Rex mother who wants her egg back!
This fully scripted adventure, allows you to follow the footsteps of Doctor Grant’s team of explorers and laugh at their crazy antics, as they search for proof that Dinosaurs still exist! This will leave you in ‘raptor raptures’ and ‘pre-hysterics’. An absolutely excellent show for all ages: there is a magic place where Dinosaurs live, and you will see before your eyes huge ones!
Finally, some of the old ones, are the best ones! Bringing their magic and mayhem with them Circus Hilarious return with a brand new show on March 8, celebrating Danny Adams’ 20th year of circus mania and you are all invited to join them on this rip-roaring riotous road of ridiculousness.
Cirque du Hilarious- Screaming With Laughter starring Clive Webb and Danny Adams, is a fast paced comedy spectacular, plus magic and mayhem, mind boggling illusions, international circus artist and stunning show girls.
Plus village idiot Michael Potts with his legendary comedy rock band featuring some surprise guests.
“We have crammed everything into this new show – it’s bigger and better than ever and features some new and exciting routines.
We can’t wait” Clive added, “we always look forward to coming the The Grand and it will be like a big party to celebrate Danny’s 20 year anniversary”.
Theatre Manager Ellie Singleton said: “Clive and Danny always have our audiences (and the staff) crying with laughter so we are looking forward to welcoming them back for another afternoon of magic and mayhem- we can’t wait.”
