1 An Evil Mind – Chris Carter

This is the sixth story featuring Detective Robert Hunter who’s up against someone from his past in this dark and gripping book. Chris Carter is definitely a name to watch and this is his best book yet.

When Alan Cumming was about to appear on ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ he got more than he bargained for. This is his journey as he goes in search of his grandfather and also finds out the truth about his father.

5 NYPD Red 2 – James Patterson and Marshall Karp

One of several books published by the bestselling author in 2014 saw the return of New York’s finest, this time on the hunt for a vigilante killer who is punishing those who haven’t been punished.

6 Awful Auntie – David Walliams

The story of tiddlywinks-obsessed Awful Aunt Alberta who is on a mission to cheat Lady Stella Saxby out of her inheritance of Saxby Hall. But Stella is determined to fight back with a little help from her friend, Soot the cockney ghost of a chimney sweep.

7 Trickster Tales: The Pied Piper of Hamelin – Russell Brand

The pairing of Russell Brand and illustrator, Chris Riddell, has made this one of the standout children’s books of 2014. You can hear Russell Brand as you read this book while being drawn into the incredible illustrations. Looking forward to more from this pair in 2015.

8 Outlaw Pete – Bruce Springsteen and Frank Caruso

Taken from his Working On A Dream album, this is the story of Outlaw Pete in a graphic novel format. Classic Springsteen!
