Morecambe’s dark weekend of the weird returns to town this weekend.

Zombieville gives zombie, Hallowe’en and superhero-lovers the chance to dress up and have a scarily good time, with plenty of fun, dancing and music along the way.

Morecambe’s zombie festival gets started this Friday (October 17) with a night for kids and families at Smokey O’Connors pub called Club Zero Monster Mash featuring a Michael Jackson tribute act starting at 7pm.

Saturday sees the annual Zombie Crawl where people in horror or fantasy-themed fancy dress parade from stunt man Martin Shenton’s Regent Park Studios stunt school on Regent Road to the Festival Market and on to the Arndale Centre. You can get made up like a zombie by the Zombieville special FX teams on the day for a small charge with all profits going to charity.

The crawl itself will last around two hours, with “dead good” stuff going on from 10am until the walk starts around 1pm.

And of course the walk itself will be at a leisurely pace because zombies don’t run!

Then on Saturday night at Smokey’s there is a night for adults called Nightmare before Hallowe’en starring rock band extraordinaire The Bottlenecks, talented young vocalists Georgia Winrow and Louisa B, and others, starting at 8pm.

Come along and get zombiefied!

Ticket prices are £5 (single event wristband) and £10 (weekend wristband).
