A new online project has been set up to urge Morecambe residents to share their memories of the past.

MI-Gen, who develop and run projects in the community, has started “Wise Words from Morecambe.”

The project will look at interviewing the older generation who have fond memories of the resort and centre of entertainment.

The site asks were you one of the many thousand that travelled from Bradford to Morecambe for your summer holiday?

Can you remember what effects the war had on Morecambe?

Did you come along to watch the Miss Great Britain Competition each year - or perhaps you were in it?

Did you see the Beatles or the Who at the Floral Hall?

Maybe you were part of the 1951 Ballroom Dance festival at the Floral Hall or went dancing at the Pier?

If you would like to tell your story about Morecambe, or you know someone who might, please contact David Evans on 01524 842737.

Alternatively, David can be contacted by email on davidevans@Mi-Gen.co.uk.
