SIX Argos stores including those in Morecambe and Lancaster are joining forces for a sponsored 1,500 mile bicycle ride.

Staff will set up exercise bikes near their shops and cycle a combined 250 miles per store.

Members of staff will each cycle for 15-minute sessions during September 14 and 15.

Money will be raised for the Teenage Cancer Trust through sponsorship, however the retail giant hopes the bulk of the funds will come from passers-by giving donations.

Teenage Cancer Trust is Argos’ nominated charity and to date £3m has been raised.

Other stores involved are in Kendal, two in Barrow and the high street store in Blackpool.
