Morecambe band The Heartbreaks to play Lancaster gig

The resort four-piece will perform live at The Study Room on Church Street on the night of Thursday, October 16.

The group, Matthew Whitehouse, Ryan Wallace, Chris ‘Deaks’ Deakin and Joseph Kondras, have just released their second album ‘We May Yet Stand A Chance’ and are due to bring out their third single from it ‘This Is Not Entertainment’ on November 3.

They say the song is “a rallying cry against the current culture of phony, over-paid DJs, awful TV talent contests and click-baiting online lists”.

The day after the release of This Is Not Entertainment the group will be hitting the road for shows in Leeds, London, Manchester, Liverpool and Nottingham throughout November.

The Heartbreaks were formed in 2009 from three members of Morecambe bands Tin Soldiers and Seaside Riot, after adding ex-Lancaster Royal Grammar School pupil and bass player Deakin to the mix.

They have performed twice at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan and notched a Tokyo radio airplay number on with ‘Delay, Delay’ in 2012 off their debut album ‘Funtimes’. They also starred in their own Channel 4 show that year.
